INTRO:
         > A new era has begun...  in more ways than one...  This Fall marks the return of the Cleveland Browns as well as the return of Sega to America.  The original creators of Madden Football for Genesis (Visual Concepts) has been working for over a year to ensure that Sega Sports NFL 2K is the best football simulation you can buy.  The game boasts over 1,500 motion captured moves, physics-based 3D collisions, all 31 stadiums, an NFL license and a Players license.  You can turn off all the simulation aspects, but that's probably not why you're here...
GRAPHICS:
         > Nothing short of spectacular.  From across the room, you'd think an actual game was on TV!  The sheer level of detail is astounding.  Obviously, all of Visual Concepts' hard work has paid off in visual reality.  Everything from weather to animation to smoothness to color to detail is awesome.
         > NFL 2K has 8 views to choose from: close, standard, far, isometric, cinematic, side, top and blimp.  Basically, every view you've ever played and liked.  Also, no matter which view use prefer, you'll always see a convincing 3D perspective of the game.
CONTROL:
         > Don't fix what isn't broke.  NKL 2K controls like you'd expect.  Yes and No buttons for making selections along with receiver-specific buttons during passes and speed bursts during runs.  Visual Concepts spent a lot of time making sure the control was responsive and it has paid off.
         > Don't forget, NFL 2K is a simulation.  Therefore, breaking away for a 15 yard run isn't going to happen every other down.  Actually, the running game has a learning curve which, despite what some say, can be mastered.  At any rate, kicking, play calling and passing are second nature.
SOUND:
         > The music really fits well with the NFL theme.  It's not something you'll hear a lot, but it's there and it's good.
         > The sound effects are excellent...  especially the voice commentators who have a lot to say and it's usually pertinent.  Aside from that, you'll hear bone crushing hits, official whistles, assorted grunts and various cues.
FUN:
         > NFL 2K has enough options alone to keep you busy for days.  Choose from Practice, Tourney, Exhibition, Season, Playoffs, Fantasy, Quickstart and Tutorial modes.  Adjust the difficulty, weather conditions, and a plethora of other things.  To top it off, you can make substitutions, check stats and watch replays.
         > If you really want to, then you can make NFL 2K play arcade-like.  However, more fun can be realized while playing an entire season with your favorite team with the sim stuff on.  Up to 3 of your friends can join your quest to make the Superbowl as well...
BOTTOM LINE:
     > NFL 2K is the definitive Football title on the market.  No console or PC game can touch it, period.  It accurately simulates every aspect of the game while adding TV flare.  If you want to "be in the game", then Sega Sports has the game for you...
Overall: 9.3 | Graphics: 9.8 | Control: 9.0 | Sound: 9.5 | Fun: 9.0
