THQ Publishes Sega |
GAMEBOY ADVANCE
|
|
> THQ plans to publish Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis,
Super Monkey Ball, and the first three Phantasy Stars (on one cart) for GBA
in 2002-2003. The last time Phantasy Star was available in English
was when it reached the Master System in the late 80s. Sega Saturn
has the most recent PS compilation, however, which included all four PS games
on one disc and was only available in Asia.

Squaresoft Finally Returns |
MULTI-PLATFORM |
|
> Square has finally returned to Nintendo development, after five years
off. Final Fantasy, the series that helped make Nintendo and Square
household names, is slated for GameCube and GBA in the form of Final Fantasy
Tactics. Nintendo is to provide financial assistance to the Square
affiliate, which will create games for Nintendo consoles. I guess the
notion that Sony's large stake in Square would prevent them from multi-platform
development was flawed after all.

Sega Does F-Zero | MULTI-PLATFORM
|
|
> Believe it or not, Sega and Nintendo are teaming
together to make the next wave of F-Zero games for the Arcade and GameCube.
Amusement Vision, of Daytona fame, is the Sega team working on the
deal. Much like the Dreamcast and Naomi, this new arcade and console
relationship will be enhanced with a common data exchange via memory card.
F-Zero AC and GC are scheduled for later this year.

Sega News Bits | MULTI-PLATFORM
|
> AM2's latest high profile game is titled Virtua
Fighter Quest. It's an action/RPG which comemorates Virtua Fighter's
10 year anniversary and is scheduled for 2003. Every character from
the VF universe will be included as well. No console was mentioned.

> Phantasy Star I and II for GameCube is currently
scheduled for a July 2002 debut in Japan. Two configurations are supposed
to be available: an Online Modem Set (9,800 yen), and a Full Set (16,600
yen), which includes a modem and keyboard. I hope Sega follows suit
in America later this year.
