     > Aerodancing 4 (AD4) is set to carry the torch for the Elite Series of flight sims that began with Aero Dancing ~featuring Blue Impulse on the Sega Dreamcast.  It has been given a new name for the American market, Aero Elite, which I find rather fitting.  AD4 is the first in the series to be developed by Sega-AM2, as CRI worked on all the previous releases.  It seems somewhat weird that Sega would decide to publish this game on PSX2, since it's a crowded flight market compared to GameCube and Xbox.  It would also seem true that Sega-AM2 and Smilebit are concentrating on PSX2 and Xbox respectively.

     > Sega claims AD4 is the most up to date flight sim you can buy.  The main addition to the series is rotary aircraft, otherwise known as helicopters.  Flying a heli is quite different from a conventional jet, so over 40 training missions are included.  "Scramble Missions" are included too, where you'll be vectored by ATC and radar data.  There will be no shortage of aircraft to pilot, as you'll earn wings for an F-14, F-15, Su-27, F-2A, F-16C, FA-18C, F-1, TND-ADV, A-10A, MiG-29, AH-64D, F-4J, A-7E, T-2, AV-8B, Mr2000C, MiG-21, and many more.  All this excitement takes place in some familiar locales, like East Island, City, Base, Bay, Monument, Lake, Canyon, CV (carrier), LHD (heli and Harrier carrier), and Snowfall.  The best thing about flight sims, though, is that no two missions are ever exactly the same.

First Impression
     > With each sequel the Aerodancing franchise becomes stronger and more varied.  I expect nothing less than an "A" game for operational PSX2 consoles.  Be careful though, because after burners generate a lot of heat.
Potential
9/10
