ShinForce started as a small project among a handful of coaches, referees, and weekend athletes who kept fielding the same question from teammates and parents: which shin guards are actually worth buying. What began as shared notes after practice turned into a full research site covering shin protection across soccer, hockey, cricket, field hockey, martial arts, and running.
Our team includes people who have spent years on pitches, mats, and rinks, plus a few who came to this from the retail and equipment-fitting side of sports. Before any guide goes up, we look at sizing charts, materials, strap and sleeve construction, and impact padding, and where possible we get gear on real bodies during practice or training sessions rather than judging it sitting in a box. We also read through manufacturer claims and independent lab or standards data when it exists, and we say clearly when it doesn’t.
ShinForce is a participant in the Amazon Associates program, which means we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through links on this site, at no extra cost to you.
We try to keep our recommendations current as products change, get discontinued, or get replaced by newer versions, so a guide from a year ago may not reflect what’s on shelves today. If you’ve used something we’ve written about and had a different experience, we want to hear about it.
